The vision for "Agape" is to immerse audiences in the present moment, inviting them to connect deeply with the characters to discover their own innermost desires. "Agape" explores profound moments of human connection found at the intersections of what is true, good, and beautiful. The vision is to inspire audiences to seek and embrace their own personal moments of Agape, those instances of deep connection, love, and fulfillment.
"Agape" is an Afro-surrealist drama that breaks away from traditional Hollywood narratives. To achieve this, "Agape" explores themes of freedom, trust, and human connection. I believe that if we want to change our facts, we must change our fiction, and telling imaginative stories is key to expanding our cultural possibilities.
My work focuses on exploring the inner worlds of the characters. Through my characters, the audience gains a deeper understanding of themselves and our collective responsibility in life.
"Agape" is inspired by various works, including PgLang's 'Visual Mission Statement', Donald Glover's 'Atlanta,' and Akira Kurosawa's 'Dreams'. By taking an Afro-surrealist approach, I am able to liberate myself from the confines of reality and create something new that inspires change.
"Agape" is a dialogue-driven short film that explores the connection between Kiro, a young dreamer, and Umi, a girl who only exists within his dreams. As they bond over laughter and vulnerability, they discover a shared history that transcends time and reality.

The budget for the short film 'Agape' is $50,000, with the following percentage breakdown: pre-production (10%: $5,000), production (60%: $30,000), post-production (20%: $10,000), marketing (5%: $2,500), and distribution (5%: $2,500). This allocation ensures adequate funding for essential tasks like prepping the production team, covering expenses related to casting, crew salaries, and equipment rentals, facilitating the post-production process, supporting marketing efforts for promotion and film festival submissions, and allowing for distribution expenses through digital platforms.
